It’s easy to focus on the idea of success; to admire the person who got to the top of the mountain and then decide to make that climb yourself. But, when you actually look at the path they took to get there and the sacrifices made, perhaps your perspective changes. Perhaps that lofty yet isolated, narrow, windswept mountain peak starts to look more like the edge of a precipice than the paradise lifestyle success that was supposed to offer.

With the traditional approach to running a business, there’s no getting around the stress, the pressure, the sleepless nights. We tend to assume that if a business isn’t growing – that if you aren’t putting in gruelling hours to make it happen and endlessly striving for more – it can’t be successful. This simply isn’t true. What is true is the fact that growth means more responsibility, hiring more staff, managing more problems, and taking on more risk.

Where is the space then for enjoying life, spending time with the people you love? Living that best version of life you envisioned when you first started as an entrepreneur?

With a minimalist approach, you get to build a successful business that you’re passionate about, but you also create space for the lifestyle you want. That’s the beauty of minimalism. You eliminate the excess – sidestepping the burden of taking on what isn’t necessary – and make room for what truly matters.

What is minimalism in business?

Minimalism in business is about letting go of all the things that you don’t need, which also means letting go of a lot of the stress and worry. You don’t have to approach business ownership as a never-ending climb to the top. Nor do you have to follow in the footsteps of other highly successful business owners to attain your success.

All you have to do is focus on your vision and passions, what you want your lifestyle to be, all the good stuff, and then implement what you need to get there. Think about it, there are a million ways to bake a cake. Running a business is the same. Why should we conform to the belief that if your business isn’t growing in a conventional way, we are failing? Why do we have to bend our path to success around a mountain of expectations someone else created?

Instead, by focusing on less, both your lifestyle and business can thrive.

How to do more with less

I didn’t get into business to be a manager or to take on more responsibility than any one human should bear. I did it so I’d have the freedom to fill my days doing the work I’m passionate about, and to live a lifestyle I love.

A minimalist approach to business is all about focusing on the essentials and stripping away the risk. Take all the fundamentals of running a business – marketing, sales, operations, administration – and be open-minded about how you can automate, delegate, or outsource. When you stop thinking about the opinions and expectations of others, and no longer limit yourself to conventional options, you’ll find there are infinite ways to run your business.

I’ve been immensely successful by taking a minimalist approach. And, my path isn’t exactly traditional. I’ve hired remote staff for everything – all by business partners and staff live in different countries. Whilst we all work hard, everyone I work with has the flexibility to make their hours and to have the lifestyle they want.

The thought of running a business without boundaries, or walls, might make some people shiver, but for me, it’s an absolute no brainer. I trust those I work with and, in turn, they trust me. I love the freedom it offers, love the fact that I’m not restricted to hire on location – and my company consists of individuals who are just as free as I am.

After generations of one way of doing things, this may appear like a big change to some people. Well, change can be a remarkable thing.

My company turns over millions of dollars a year. And, I’m living my dream right now. Success isn’t an idea that will happen once my business grows to a certain point, and then once it reaches the next goal, or when I can finally retire and have time to spend with my family and do the things I love.

That’s the thing, the minimalist entrepreneur gets to have it all in the present moment, not as an ideal to enjoy someday over the rainbow. I’m living my best life now. You can do the same.

Running a business is hard.

Running a business with unnecessary distractions is even harder.

Simplified systems and processes are the keys to maintaining your sanity as an entrepreneur and can also directly impact your bottom line. If you feel like you are drowning in work, forgetting important tasks or deadlines and generally feeling overwhelmed I am making this video for you.

I am a co-founder of two businesses Beavr (Aesthetic Marketing Services) and Medical Resale and also have a young family at home. For me to give 100% to all facets of my life it is important for me to maintain some sort of order. Part of this is simplifying the way I run my business and utilising technology to make my business life easier.

In this video, I am going to show you my thought process and also the tools I use to apply digital minimalism in my business life. Let’s get into it.

Email is an important aspect of conducting business but it can also be a headache to manage.

A simple method to taming your email conundrum is to treat your inbox like a to-do list and aim to maintain a zero inbox at the end of every day. This means when you finish for the day you can rest easy with the peace of mind of knowing your emails have been actioned.

Now, I am not saying you have to reply to every email but rather only check your emails periodically throughout the day and apply the A.T.I.D method.

This stands for Action, Task, Ignore, Delegate.

If there is an email that arrives. If you can take action right away and reply, do it. If it requires a bit more work, Create a task (I use Trello which I will touch on shortly so keep watching). If it has no value ignore it. If someone else can do it delegate it.

Once you have selected an action simply archive the email in your inbox.

For those that are panicking about finding emails if you need to find an email just search for it in All Mail section of your email application. If you use Gmail for business they make searching for emails really simple.

The next method for simplifying your online life is to centralise all of the main applications you use on a daily basis.

For me, I use a variety of applications for Like Gmail, Google drive for file management, Trello for Task Management, Slack for communicating with my remote team and Basecamp for project management.

I used to always have a large number of tabs open in my browser which always resulted in me trying to multi-task and end up taking twice as long to complete anything. Until I found an app called shift.

Shift is an application that helps me centralise all of my main applications so that they are available to me without having to open my web browser. This app helps me stay on the task at hand and saves me a tonne of time trying to find the right tab on my browser.

Next method is removing distractions.

Time is our most important asset which makes distractions our enemy.

I have strived to eliminate all distractions by leaving my desktop blank and deleting any saved documents on my desktop once I have finished using them. This sets the tone for the next day and helps me tackle the important things first with complete clarity.

My biggest problem when starting my businesses was learning to manage my tasks and not forgetting important dates.

For me a process and system need to be simple and minimalistic otherwise I will just stop using it and resorting back to old habits.

This is where Trello comes in. I use Trello to manage all of the tasks in my life.

I have created 3 columns Someday, for tasks that are not time sensitive and can be actioned at a later date. Waiting, This is generally for important emails or tasks I am waiting for someone else to action and Today, for important tasks I need to complete in the day.

To integrate Trello into my Gmail I use a chrome extension called Gmail-to-Trello this enables me to instantly add an email to my to-do list directly from my inbox.

By centralising all of my tasks it gives me so much more bandwidth in my brain as I no longer need to remember important tasks. So long as I have added these to my Trello I can switch off and focus on other things. That is a brief insight as to how digital minimalism helps me stay sane as a busy entrepreneur and new father.

If you are feeling overwhelmed take a day to go through the process of decluttering your digital life. You may lose a day going through the process but you will gain many more just by having more clarity and headspace to grow your business.

If you found this video useful please leave me a comment below. I love sharing my ideas and hearing your feedback.

See you in the next video.

Whenever we jump in the car to go somewhere we have never been before the first thing we generally do is look at a map. But what about the destinations we want to get to in life?

We all aspire for something whether it’s a fully fledged dream of travelling without a care in the world or a brief afterthought when we drive past a beautiful house or we see a fit person on Instagram. But when was the last time you sat down and looked at where you are now vs the things you want to accomplish and the road map required to get you there?

I wanted to make this video to talk about how to simplify your dreams and aspirations by turning them into an actionable roadmap rather than a forever fairy tale. So, let’s get into it.

Visualisation is one of the most important aspects to manifesting your dreams.

Sure action is important and I’ll touch on that soon but if you can’t see, hear, and taste what you want to achieve than how do you know it’s something you really want to pursue?

Being clear and concise with what it is you want and setting aside a brief moment each day to live and feel what it is you are pursuing will ignite the fire in you to take action. And there’s nothing wrong with putting some positive vibes out into the universe.

Once you are clear on what it is you are wanting to pursue look at the gap between where you are now vs where you want to get to?

And what are the milestones in between, that you need to achieve to get you closer to your destination?

An example for me as I was working in a well paid corporate job, company car and all that kind of jazz but I was miserable, I hated it. For me, my ideal lifestyle was to be in control of how I spent my time. Being in full-time employment was never going to give that to me so the first milestone for me was to get educated on becoming a business owner.

The second milestone was to start a business and the third milestone was to learn how to shape my business to match the lifestyle I wanted to have. I was getting up early and diving into books, going to work for the day, going to rugby training and then coming home at 8 pm to start work on my business before heading to bed at about 2 am.

It wasn’t easy but I was clear on the path I needed to take to get me to where I wanted to be.

Next step is to break milestones into daily actionable steps.

A vision with no action is merely a dream. Put time aside to ensure you are inching forward each and every day.

Need to learn more? Swap out watching your favourite Netflix show each night to read or listen to podcasts. Want to get fitter? Do 30 minutes of exercise. Don’t have enough time? Get up earlier.

Small, smart choices + Consistency + Time = Amazing results.

When I was growing up I would always hear the phrase when I win the lotto I am going to do this. Or when I win the lotto I am going to buy that.

But we have already won the lotto. We have the ability to shape our lives with our actions. Don’t lump your dreams in the too hard basket. Make time to create your map and have fun along the way.

As a business owner, sustaining your presence on social media by creating engaging and consistent content can be an arduous task. It is already established that social media is a brilliant tool to grow your business. However, pigs will fly before you succeed if you do not create regular, consistent, and relevant content.

In this article, I share a strategy that will assist you, not just in creating tons of social media content, but also doing it with consistency and minimal effort.

This strategy is called the Pillar Strategy – a style that allows you to document what you actually do, instead of trying to create and come up with new content all the time. This way, it becomes both fun and scalable.

How’s it Done?

The pillar strategy is typically a way of spicing up the content creation process; the strategy may vary from business to business, but all yield the same result.

Tradesmen, for instance, are out and about each day, they interact with different people, with different characters, and they’ve got employees. They’re engaged in exciting projects and activities.

Now, they can take up the advantage of sharing their daily activities with their audience. If it’s a tutorial they want to provide, they can teach the audience how a particular task is done by having a videographer follow them around.

You too can apply this method to your business, particularly if you do interesting work that keeps you moving around your workplace. That said, it may not be a viable option if your work limits you to your desk all day long.

The entire idea is to document what you do during the day, instead of having to go through the brainstorming route to come up with topics and content for your business page.

Using the tradesman as an example, we can break down the pillar strategy using the following guidelines:

Get a Videographer:

The tradesmen set out for their daily work in the morning, and the kind of jobs they do range from simple to overly complex ones. If they desire to post fresh and relevant content across their business pages, they hire the services of a videographer to film them while they do what they know how to do best.

You too can hire a videographer or train one of your staff members on video-graphing, the person then follows you around to capture moments and activities. Better yet, start off by vlogging yourself with your phone, especially if it’s got excellent picture quality. It doesn’t have to be overly technical.

The Rawer, the Better:

In some cases, raw footages are more effective because people can relate to it. It’s how people’s friends are posting on the various social media platforms, so it suits Instagram and Facebook users really well. People get to appreciate it better when the entire thing is kept real.

Keep it Short and Simple:

Simplicity is a primary key you would want to hold on to. Keep the videos condensed and short. What matters most is how interesting they are, not the length.

You may have created a video that’s about 3-5 minutes long, one that contains your dealings of the day as per what you do.

However, not all the footage in the video you create should make it to the main video.

Relevance to the audience must always be considered, and the final content could only be a 30-second clip.

They could be little quotes or snippets that you said during the day. In essence, you take the footage and cut it all up into micro contents. It could be 10 or 30-second snippets of something funny that happened in the work van, it could as well be footage of your going to a local café.

As simple as it may appear, it is relevant to your community, especially if you’re a local business. It’s a way of carrying your local community along.

Ultimately, you’ll find that you’re not just promoting your business to make profits, you’re also building relationships that translate to loyalty; loyalty to your brand.

The things you said during the day should not be left out. You can convert them to word gems by getting a graphic designer or someone in your office to turn them into little quote cards, then you can start posting them to social media.

Basically,

To create more content, you simply get someone to follow you around with a camera (or perhaps you do it yourself), and you create one main video.

Then, from that one main video, you’re able to spin a whole bunch of content. If you do that regularly – weekly, every second day or however you find convenient, you will soon discover that they’ll all start to add up and in the long run, you’re effectively creating a large amount of content with minimal effort.

We live in a world of abundance. A world where we can have almost anything we want at a click of a button. It provides us with extreme convenience but at what cost?

We are taught from a young age to strive for more, dream big, reach for the stars! But what happens if we strive for less? I have been toying with the idea over the last 3 years and the results of striving for less have helped me create a lifestyle beyond my wildest dreams.

Let me explain.

The best thing I have ever learnt is material things won’t make me happy.

People don’t give a shit about what I wear or drive and those that do, do I really want them in my life anyway.

Focusing on me and my family needs and acquiring materials that bring a level of joy and comfort in our lives has enabled us to focus on what’s important and eliminate the rest regardless of what people will think of us.

An example of this is we recently built a house, we could have afforded to buy a bigger block of land and build a bigger house but why? Instead, we focused on what would best serve us and our young children and built a small functional home that suited a family who enjoys spending time in the kitchen and travelling often.

A big house for our current situation was unnecessary. The old me would have wanted the biggest house on the street but by striving for less we now have a home that allows us to spend time doing the things we love without being bogged down trying to keep the place tidy.

Another example is stripping away all of the digital clutter that distracts me from the things that matter the most.

I went through a stage of feeling like a slave to my phone. Phone calls, emails, texts, social media were in control of my life. I needed it to change.

A simple method was to identify the things that were most distracting and either eliminate or put restrictions in place. I went through my phone and deleted all of the unnecessary apps that no longer served a meaningful purpose in my life.

For the remaining apps, I grouped them all together and then placed them onto the second page of my phone.

This meant when I opened my phone I am greeted with a blank screen. This helped me overcome my subconscious habit of opening my phone without even thinking and start opening apps like a zombie.

For any apps, I do need I just use the search function on my iPhone. This helps me be more conscious of my actions on my phone and really helped shake the habit of opening my phone to see the time and then finding myself 15 minutes deep in Instagram watching funny cat videos.

The next thing I focused on was eliminating unnecessary tasks to free me up to give me space to work on the things that were going to propel me closer to my goals.

It is so easy to sleepwalk through life and be busy being busy. When was the last time you allocated a chunk of your day just to focus on you and your goals?

I call these growth tasks. Rather than filling my day with “Things” I ensure I get the hard things done first and then it gives me the mental space and creativity to focus on the things that help me and my businesses grow. Part of the process was saying no more often, delegating more work, switching meetings to online conference calls and automating certain processes with software.

By trying to do less I have been able to achieve so much more.

It is so easy to fall into the false belief that in order to achieve more we need to do more. It is often the act of doing more that causes us to start pulling ourselves in different directions. By focusing on doing less it gives us the clarity and time we need to do more.

So what is something you could less of? Leave a comment below and let me know I would love to hear from you.

Is your business growing? If you are a business owner and growing your business using online marketing has been a problem, then this article is for you. If you think all the money you have spent on Facebook ads is a waste, read on.

In this article, I will illustrate a simple content marketing funnel that you can then supercharge using Facebook ads. The steps in creating a successful content marketing are:

The setup

Feed the funnel with content

Nurture potential customers

Convert prospects to customers

The Setup

In setting up your content marketing funnel, you have to start with the customer. What are their pain points? What is the current situation of the customers, and what do they want to achieve?

You also have to consider what unique solutions you are offering that would make the customer consider you ahead of the competition. As an example, at Crewdo, we specialise in helping business owners facing growth challenges to be successful.

Basically, what we do is we help customers reach their ideal outcome of automating their lead generation, growing their business, seeing more sales, seeing more profits in their business, and allowing them the freedom to do more.

A solution to that is to utilise content marketing and Facebook advertising to attract their prospective customers, and then using content marketing, build trust and convert their potential customers into leads. However, this does not describe a unique solution. So we call it trust-based marketing.

Trust-based marketing, in a nutshell, is content marketing plus Facebook ads joined together. And it’s unique to us. So know your potential customers, understand what they want and prepare a unique solution for them.

Feed the Funnel with Content

The best way to feed the funnel is to create helpful content. On Facebook, you can create video content or instant articles using forums and tools such as ubersuggest.com, theanswerthepublic.com, and so on to find the pain points and challenges of potential customers. Then, you can create content which addresses these challenges.

After creating this content, it is vital to get the content across to your target audience. Using Facebook ads, you can target the exact customers who need that content. Facebook allows for appropriate targeting, so you can be sure that your content is reaching the right audience. Also, you can use search engine optimisation to ensure that customers searching for certain queries can visit your website/blog and read your content.

Nurture Potential Customers

The biggest mistake a lot of businesses will make is not creating enough content. They’ll make one video, and then they’ll promote their business on Facebook and expect leads to come rushing to them.

You will be depending on luck in such a situation. Sure, your video may show up at the right time that the customer wants that product or service, and they make a purchase. But that’s a minimal subset of the market, and you don’t want to run your business by hoping to get lucky.

The majority of customers are not ready to buy just yet. They must be nurtured. They may not be ready to buy now, but they’re at that stage now where they know they’ve got a problem, and they’re probably going to make a purchase within six months.

So the best way we’ve found to nurture prospective customers online is to create content consistently and continually. But not just any content. Content that really, really helps your potential customers. You can achieve this by understanding what their problems are and their ideal outcomes.

Continually create consistent, regular content that is going to help those people in that situation. By doing this, you build rapport and trust. You create top-of-the-mind awareness, and they’d purchase from you when they are ready.

Convert Prospects into Customers

This is the most critical step, as everything would be in vain if the customers do not buy. So how do you get customers to buy? The advantage of this method is that the initial steps have helped build trust and rapport and making the sale is much easier if you are providing the customers with a unique solution that can help their situation.

You want to ensure that you’re creating an offer that is a really high value, one that’s going to provide value to that prospective customer. Then, you promote this high-value offer to a warm audience, that is, people who have benefitted from your content.

It is important to promote to the right audience. To do that, you pick out specific videos that are related to that particular offer and target people who have engaged with that video/content. You can, on Facebook, create a custom audience of people that have watched 50, 75%, 95%, 100% of your video. The beauty of doing this is you know that that person’s interested in that topic. You know they’re probably having that pain point because they’ve actually taken the time out of their busy day to watch that video or read that content.

By following these steps, you are actually making a difference in the customers’ lives, so they are more likely to buy from you. Also, the process costs less, since you are not mass advertising to everybody. You are only advertising to people who have interacted with your content and are interested in your solution.

You’ve actually gone through taking the time to add value to people’s lives. You’ve gone through to filter your funnel so that when you put an offer in front of someone, it’s relevant to them and it’s a bite-sized audience sending you a ton of money and giving you the return on investment that you probably haven’t been seeing on Facebook ads in the past.

Overall, it might not be quite as simple as this, but it is effective.

What is a sales funnel? How do you turn prospects into customers and customers into repeat buyers? Why are some businesses able to convert prospects into buyers?

The Sales Funnel is the Answer

A sales funnel transports your customers from the initial point of awareness and builds their interest until they purchase your product and service. A lot has been discussed by marketers and thought leaders on how to create sales funnels. However, the perfect sales funnel is not a one-size fits all and would be based on your type of business.

So what should you consider in creating a successful sales funnel?

Mostly common sense. No need to confuse yourself with too many marketing tools, tactics or hacks. A focus on the basics would help you create a converting sales funnel. Read on to learn more about how to do this.

Focus on the Customer

A lot of marketers like to get fancy with funnel creation tools and techniques. You must consider one factor in designing your sales funnels and that factor is not tools or technology. It is the customer. What problems do the customers need you to solve?

How do they seek answers to these questions? Do they go on Google to start querying, hoping to find answers to their questions? Do they talk about it on online forums or Facebook groups?

What is the Customer’s Journey?

As a follow up from above, it is important to plot out the customer’s journey to finding a solution to their challenge. Your business should be focused on helping your customers smoothly along the road to the solution to their problems.

Create Content That Helps Your Customer

The basic rule really is to focus on the customer. Many businesses approach from a position of selfishness, thinking of how much they can make from the customer, rather than how they can help the customer.

Create content solutions for the customer’s problem and distribute these contents where your potential customers can get them.

Consider this Successful Sales Funnel

We worked with a client that offers retrofit double glazing windows. In designing the sales funnel, we asked the client: “what problems are your customers having before they even know who you are, what your product is, and how you can help in achieving their desired outcome?”

Soundproofing was a major challenge for this client’s customers. We found online a vast amount of queries that people search for like, “how to soundproof my window”? “Ideal solutions for soundproofing my window”, “heat loss and making a room warmer in the winter” and “reducing power on heating a room” among other queries.

These are the challenges that the customers were all facing at the moment. In this case, we simply created helpful and relevant content to help customers in these situations. With search engine optimisation, potential customers can see this helpful content, and once they find us on Google, they know who we are and they “enter” the funnel.

We educate them further that double glazing can help soundproof the home, minimise heat loss, and so on. Depending on your business, there are other things you can educate your customer on, like providing a justification for your prices and telling them how long it takes to get products delivered.

By providing helpful content, you build credibility, and the customer eventually picks up the phone and asks for a quote. You’d find that the sales process is easier, and there are not so many objections because you have done a ton of work upfront by educating the customer. This one element alone has resulted in millions of dollars of sales.

In Conclusion

The perfect sales funnel for Aesthetic Clinics enables you to see things from the customer’s viewpoint and provide content that effortlessly guides the customer down the funnel. With the perfect sales funnel, you only sell to qualified customers, and it is easier to convert them to paying customers if you have helped them in the search for the solutions to their problems.

Before we continue, take out B2B and B2C from your mind; it doesn’t matter who your clients are, content marketing works across the board. Whether you offer B2B or B2C products or services, what’s important is that you’re dealing with humans and humans love interaction.

Using Content Marketing, videos, in particular, is a great way to put your face in the mind of your potential and existing clients.

When you give value for free, you build trust. People come to associate your brand with expertise in your area of business, so when they need work done in that field, you’ll be the first in their minds.

There’s no better way to build a rapport online than creating a video. It doesn’t matter if you’re B2B or B2C, creating content is a good way to humanise your brand and to communicate directly with the person that’s watching the video.

2. You Give Value to Your Customers

People mostly care about what’s in it for them; they want to know what they stand to gain from interacting with you and your business, especially if they can get it for free. So, creating content, whether it’s a blog, a podcast, or a video, is a great way to give value to your audience, your ideal customers without asking anything in return.

It’s one of the best ways that you can provide value to people without being intrusive and picking up the phone and trying to cold call. Creating valuable content, creating educational content, entertaining people, whatever it is you’re trying to achieve, creating content is one of the best ways that you can do that for your business.

3. Content Marketing is Here to Stay

Tactics come and go, we all talk about building automated funnels, and they work if they’re done right, but they come and go. However, the fundamental way that people spend their money generally stays the same.

People like to do research before purchasing a product to make sure it’s the right fit for them. Therefore, creating educational content on the things they might be searching for is a good way to put yourself out there and generate leads. Creating content is a great way to leverage the fundamentals of how we purchase goods or services as consumers. So, if you’re stuck for ideas around creating content, then focus on answering questions that people might be asking online.

4. It’s Cheap

Content marketing is cheap. Facebook ads, for instance, offer value at a far greater rate than their cost. If you’re a local business, you should be utilising Facebook ads to get the attention and build the awareness of your products and services.

With Facebook ads, you can map out an area where you want your ads to show, and the kind of people to show it to. You put a minimal ad spend on that, create consistent, relevant content, and before you know it people remember your name, and when it comes to them needing your product or service, they’re going to remember you. So, start creating content if you’re not already, and start utilising Facebook ads.

5. Your Ads Will Be Relevant

What this means is that you can now deliver relevant content to the right audiences. If you have someone who is not close to buying your product but is aware of the problem your product solves and is on the lookout for solutions, you can deliver content that answers their questions.

On the other hand, you can also have a person who is ready to buy but doesn’t know who to buy from and so is researching your competitors and reading your reviews.

The best way to reach both persons is content marketing. You can create custom audiences on Facebook, and basically put ads in front of the right people, depending on where they are in the buyer journey.

This tool is very powerful because you could be delivering testimonials to the potential buyers that are ready to buy while giving product info to people earlier on in the funnel. It works because the early stage buyers don’t know that your product is useful for them yet.

They’re still trying to figure out the problem so you don’t want to show them content that will fly over their heads. You would be wasting your ad spend and time if you did that, and they’ll probably switch off and not click on anything.

Conclusion

So, there you have it, five reasons your business should be creating content, whether it’s a blog, podcast, video, whatever it is, you need to be creating something if you’re not already. And if you are, make sure you use Facebook ads to put it in front of people’s faces. Content marketing is the current big thing and you don’t want to miss out on this one.

If you’re a business owner and are looking to grow your business, you’ve most likely heard about Gary Vaynerchuk, popularly known as GaryVee. He’s the CEO of VaynerMedia and VaynerX, it’s impossible not to know him if you’re interested in using digital marketing and social media to grow your business.

He is one of the most productive people in regards to content creation and, in this article, I’m going to walk you through his method and strategy for social media content creation and how you can apply it to your business.

GaryVee is very open about how he creates his content, and there’s a ton of resources online centred around it but see this as a short and straightforward guide to applying his methods.

1. Pillar Content

GaryVee’s first step when creating content is to formulate pillar content. What this means is that he creates one piece of content which he repurposes and spins severally to create content for his social media platforms.

For GaryVee, he has a daily vlog called the DailyVee Show, and the AskGaryVee Show. These are his two main pillars from which he can spin all of his social media content.

To illustrate this point, the DailyVee Show is a daily vlog where he has a videographer follow him around, going to various meetings, giving keynotes and things like that, he then edits that vlog into a very engaging piece of content.

Then, his social media team will extract all of the gold from that and repurpose it into other content that they think the audience might find useful. This leads us to the second step.

2. Repurpose Your Content

After you’ve created your pillar content, a vlog, an article, podcast, etc., the next step is to repurpose it for social media. Your pillar content is too lengthy and monotonous for social media, so the best thing to do is spin it. You can vary your pillar content into video snippets, graphic cards or quote cards.

GaryVee repurposes his AskGaryVee Show into a podcast. He has a writer on his team that will interview him about certain things that he’s spoken about in his videos, and then they’ll turn it into a written piece of content.

His time is taken up by creating the first piece of content, the pillar content, and then his team does the rest of the work and creates a ton of content for his social media channels.

3. Create Content around Your Feedback

After you’ve created your pillar content, repurposed, spun and varied it, and posted on social media, the next step is to listen to your audience.

Scour the responses on your pillar post and social media posts and look for questions or comments from your audience.

With this new information, you then go back to your pillar content and repurpose it based on the questions and comments or create new content based on it.

Conclusion

So, there you have it, the three steps GaryVee uses to create tons of content that you’ll find available on different social media channels. Don’t be deceived by the seeming simplicity of it; it’s a lot of work.

Your repurposed content has to fit each of your social media channels, and you have to make them engaging enough to get responses and generate leads for your business. There’s a lot of trial and error to see what gets the most engagement and what doesn’t.

If you’re creating content for your business, or you’re looking at creating content for your business, this is a near perfect strategy to use. You can record one piece of content and turn it into multiple pieces. It’s a very good method, especially if you’re very busy and don’t have all the time in the world to create content.

Content Creation is a big deal for everyone, and when you have to create content for your business, it can be overwhelming. You’re not just writing a random Facebook post, you have to come up with content that is engaging and can generate leads.

This is a full-time job. In this article, however, I’m going to show you how to produce 10 times as much content in very little time.

Create Multipurpose Content

Many businesses fall in the trap of creating universal content, i.e., one video, article, or podcast for all platforms. A better way to go is to ensure that the content that you’re posting on social media is relevant to that particular platform.

What you should do is take that one piece of content and turn it into multiple pieces of content. To give you an example, if you’re creating a video for YouTube, you could transcribe that video, then post it on your blog as an article or a blog post.

You can also take the video, pull out little clips that your audience might find useful and put them into their own individual video snippets and post on Instagram for example which has a 60-second limit for videos.

You can pull quotes, statements, tips and tricks and things like that and put them into graphics cards. You can make 15-second segments and use them for Instagram or Facebook stories. Basically, you’re taking one piece of content and turning it into multiple pieces of content.

Alternatively, if you create a blog post, you can turn that blog into a video or a script and then use an iPad teleprompter to deliver that via video, or you can have a presentation that just runs through the blog post. You can make these short and post on social media. You can also take snippets of the article and make graphics cards with them for social media.

Multiplying your content in this way is also a really good way to generate leads. If the video snippets and graphics cards you create for social media are engaging and interesting enough, you could get people to go to your website or YouTube channel looking for more. This will lead them to see your products/services and eventually patronise you.

Write an E-book

One way to generate leads is by writing an e-book. Writing a book will take a lot of time, however, if you’ve made a video that you’ve repurposed into an article or a blog post, let’s say you’ve done that 12 times around a certain topic, you can combine all of those articles and have a writer turn it into an e-book. You could then offer the e-book to your subscribers for free. This becomes a lead magnet for your business because if the e-book is valuable, people will be willing to pay for more of that.

Start a Podcast

Starting a podcast is a sure way to increase productivity with less work. A podcast is like a radio show and doesn’t require the rigid structure of an article so you can just note down a few main points then talk about them to your heart’s content.

You can also bring in a guest who is an authority in your industry and whose opinion would benefit your customers. Podcasts are naturally lengthy, so you have a lot of material that you can repurpose later.

Conclusion

Basically, if you want to create more lead generating content without breaking your back, the best thing to do is create content that you can repurpose.

This is also helpful because the attention span on social media platforms is a lot shorter. No one wants to watch a ten-minute video on Instagram so it would be more beneficial if you have one long piece of content on your blog or YouTube.

You can then break it down into smaller pieces that will grab and keep the attention of your social media followers and lead them to visit your site where they can buy your products.

If you’ve got any questions or other methods you’ve used to increase content production, please feel free to leave a comment below.
